Fortis Institute in Towson MD, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director for the HVAC program. Requirements

• Documented expertise in academic subject area as demonstrated by data sheets, diplomas, transcripts, certifications, and/or résumés.
• Expertise in interpersonal and oral presentation/written communication skills.
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership, and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician
• Prior postsecondary-related teaching experience of at least 2 years.
• An associate degree is required, preferably in HVAC, but can be in any field, with the completion of an accredited HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• HVAC Certified/License in the state of Maryland
• EPA Universal Certification

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Managing the department using sound business principles
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures
• Teaching in his/her assigned discipline
• Working with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the HVAC program
• Serving as the lead administrator for the department
• Faculty training and development
• Coordinating and administering the HVAC program
• Overseeing student outcomes and activities within the department
