Requirements

• Completion of an HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Appropriate licensing under the Alabama Board of Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Contractors.
• Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
• Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician.
• Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience of at least 2 years.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree is preferred.
• NATE desired but not required.
• HVAC Excellence desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the HVAC program using sound business principles.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures.
• Teach in the assigned discipline.
• Work with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction.
• Serve as the lead administrator for the department.
• Responsible for faculty training and development.
• Coordinate and administer the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.
