About The Position

Kenvue is seeking a 3rd Shift HVAC/Pipefitter responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and documenting a variety of utility equipment and systems throughout the plant. This includes HVAC, dust collectors, fire suppression, steam, water, waste, gas, air, hydraulic, plumbing, and manufacturing valves and pumps. The role involves operating welding apparatus and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as specified by the FDA. This position works the 3rd shift, from 11 PM to 7 AM, Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent experience/GED.
  • Trade-school diploma in HVAC or a qualified Journey Person Pipefitter or Plumber.
  • Minimum of two years current experience or minimum of five years prior experience working in HVAC or pipefitting/plumbing with a professional company.
  • Ability to pass a written test.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and layout installations using piping standards.
  • Perform work from piping sketches or blueprints, selecting the proper size and type of pipe for the application.
  • Install, maintain, and repair pipe lines including steam, condensate, water, sprinkler, drainage, waste, vent, gas, air, hydraulic, and process lines, along with their fittings, valves, and traps.
  • Cut and thread pipe as required, and cut holes in walls or floors for running pipe.
  • Perform necessary pressure tests on completed work.
  • Insulate and repair pipe coverings as necessary.
  • Adjust and repair automatic air handling systems.
  • Perform repairs to refrigeration units.
  • Change filters as needed.
  • Inspect, document, and test fire sprinkler systems as required.
  • Perform and document routine inspections of fire extinguishers, air handling units, dust collectors, and vacuum systems.
  • Serve on fire sprinkler systems as a valve person or pump person as assigned.
  • Perform repairs to pumps, pump seals, and valves, including diaphragm and seal replacements.
  • Operate electric and acetylene welding apparatus to fuse metal parts, fabricate metal objects, or repair broken or cracked objects.
  • Use welding equipment properly.
  • Perform soldering and brazing as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and clean tools and equipment.
  • Ensure FDA/OSHA/EH&S compliance standards are met.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
