HVAC Pipe Welder

About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Pipe Welder is to design, cut, and permanently join metal parts together through the application of appropriate welding techniques. Duties of the Pipe Welder include reviewing blueprints, cutting metal into the appropriate shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of trade/vocational school and minimum of 3 years pipefitting experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Welding certification
  • MIG/TIG/Arc welding experience preferred
  • Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to use and maintain a variety of hand tools, wiring diagrams, piping schemes, engineering specifications and other equipment
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blue prints, plans and manuals
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with working in all types of conditions
  • Flexibility to work overtime and/or weekends as required
  • Willingness to travel out of town to projects with overnight stays

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and familiarity of our products and line of business a plus
  • Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systems and general knowledge of mechanical systems is a Plus

Responsibilities

  • Uphold and Adhere to Core Values
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards
  • Complete every stage of building pump packages, to include:
  • Layout, cutting, and welding of steel frame
  • Layout, cutting, and welding of steel piping
  • Layout, cutting, and threading of steel pipe
  • Layout, cutting, and soldering copper piping
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Installation of equipment on steel frame
  • Painting of package
  • Pressure test of pipe and repair as needed
  • Identify and use various types of welding tools, wire, and machines
  • Follow established safety guidelines and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Perform QA/QC checks on finished work to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Other duties as assigned
