About The Position

Robert Madden Industries, LTD., a Texas-based heating and air conditioning wholesale distributor, is seeking a dedicated HVAC Counter Sales Associate. The role provides customer service and technical assistance in an HVAC supply environment, helping customers identify products that meet their needs and processing orders accurately. The position also supports inventory management, store organization, sales promotions, and ongoing product and service training. It has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC products, equipment, and components.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer-centric attitude and commitment to exceptional service.
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer software.
• Physical ability to lift and move moderately heavy items.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
• Excellent computer and writing skills, including high proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong ERP skills; Epicor Prophet 21 is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Epicor Prophet 21.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, establish rapport, and create a customer-centric atmosphere.
• Listen to customer inquiries, identify HVAC-related needs, and provide accurate information.
• Use knowledge of HVAC products, technical specifications, and applications to advise customers and recommend products.
• Process customer orders through the POS system and confirm availability and estimated delivery or pickup times.
• Answer basic technical questions and troubleshoot common HVAC challenges.
• Identify opportunities to upsell complementary products, accessories, or premium alternatives.
• Build customer relationships by providing high-quality service and handling concerns, inquiries, and returns professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain inventory, receive and inspect shipments, and update inventory records.
• Help maintain an organized store, arrange displays, and make products accessible.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales transactions, and inventory updates.
• Follow safety protocols when handling and storing HVAC products.
• Attend service and parts training and complete online training.
• Learn about and offer limited-time promotions.
