This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, including cooling tower repairs and annual maintenance, compressor and blower maintenance, fan and motor repairs, belt and pulley replacements, and troubleshooting and repair of electrical and control systems. The technician will conduct equipment inspections to identify potential issues and recommend repairs or replacements, troubleshoot complex problems using specialized tools, and develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance schedules. Collaboration with other maintenance personnel is key to ensure minimal impact on plant operations. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities, staying updated with industry developments, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols are also essential. The role may involve training junior technicians, using root-cause analysis tools, providing technical support during commissioning and startup, interpreting schematics, and interacting with stakeholders. Additionally, the technician will mentor and train lower-level technicians, develop and maintain SOPs, decide on maintenance types and parts, participate in cross-functional teams, conduct inspections, apply best practices and codes, maintain regular attendance, adhere to safety rules, and support plant operations during off-hours.
