About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC Servicemen to support customers across healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, K-12, and commercial real estate. This role offers the opportunity to commission, service, and maintain advanced commercial HVAC equipment while serving as a trusted advisor to customers on comfort, building inefficiency, and service-related issues. In this field-based role, you will perform hands-on service work on commercial heating and cooling systems, support reliable equipment operation, and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, performance, and sustainability. You will work closely with customers and internal technical support resources to deliver safe, high-quality service and practical recommendations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and repair of three-phase commercial HVAC equipment, RTUs, heat pumps, and fans.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adherence to the company Safety Program.
  • Willingness to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.
  • Ability to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify skills and knowledge, if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of commercial and/or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and minor repair of pumps, VFDs, Air Handling Units, and Rooftop Units.
  • Experience with air-cooled chillers and large RTU coil and compressor replacements and service diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Commission, service, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Consult with customers on comfort concerns, building inefficiency, and other service-related issues.
  • Assist Journeymen with the repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw, and scroll chillers.
  • Identify enhancements that improve customer system reliability and sustainability during service visits.
  • Prepare labor and material quotes to support recommended repairs and improvements.
  • Participate in rotating weekend, night, and holiday call-out service.
  • Support safe and professional work practices in the field and maintain clear communication with customers.
