About The Position

This is a full-time position for an HVAC Mechanic responsible for carrying out all assigned HVAC work and projects, ensuring safe tool and equipment handling, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and performing maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment. The role also involves overseeing installations, maintaining accurate records, responding to 24-hour calls, ensuring compliance with codes, and understanding related trades like carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall finishing, and painting. The position requires the use of safety equipment and attire, maintaining a New York State driver's license, and the ability to lift, stoop, and bend with objects up to seventy-five pounds. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience in a related field.
  • Maintain a current New York State driver’s license.
  • Practice and know proper use of measuring tools along with working knowledge of how to read basic blue prints.
  • Practice and know safe tool and equipment handling procedures used in HVAC work.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment and attire for assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in the HVAC trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out all assigned work.
  • Complete all HVAC work and projects as prescribed by the Facilities Operations Manager.
  • Practice and know safe tool and equipment handling procedures used in HVAC work.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC equipment.
  • Install and oversee the installation of HVAC equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of HVAC products and equipment.
  • Respond to calls 24 hours a day.
  • Work to keep all systems in compliance with local, state and national codes.
  • Practice and know proper use of measuring tools along with working knowledge of how to read basic blue prints.
  • Do work from a basic understanding of related work trades such as; carpentry, plumbing electrical, drywall finishing, and painting.
  • Clean and maintain all tools used to complete assignments.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment and attire for assignments.
  • Maintain a current New York State driver’s license.
  • Lift, stoop and bend with objects that weigh up to seventy-five pounds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
