About The Position

The HVAC Mechanic maintains heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in residential apartments and public areas at Riderwood Village, a continuing care retirement community in Silver Spring, Maryland. The role helps ensure residents have a comfortable and safe home by performing light maintenance, responding to system and equipment failures, and monitoring system efficiency and safety. The position requires at least one year of HVAC maintenance experience, the ability to carry out plans developed by the Engineering/Maintenance Manager, adaptability to new techniques and equipment, effective communication, and the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC maintenance.
Ability to implement plans formulated by the Engineering/Maintenance Manager.
Ability to adjust to new industry techniques and become familiar with new equipment as required.
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and the team.
Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform light maintenance on heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
Inspect, monitor, and evaluate system efficiency and safety to ensure trouble-free operation.
Implement plans formulated by the Engineering/Maintenance Manager.
