No relocation funds available, must be within 50 miles of Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostics and corrective maintenance on heating hot water boilers, chillers, piping, pumps, air separators/expansion tanks, air handlers, fan coils, exhaust fans, cooling towers, air compressors, dampers, coils (HW, CW, DX), motors, control valves, pressure reducing valves, relief valves, and all other support systems as needed. They replace piping systems; cut, bend, fabricate using steel, copper, PVC and associated fittings specific to the type of pipe being used to connect new equipment installations and replacements.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent. In lieu of diploma or equivalent, trade school certifications can be used for credit towards years of experience.
  • 5 years’ experience with preventive maintenance and/or corrective maintenance of HVAC and/or Boiler-Chiller systems.
  • Must have Steam Fitter Journeyman certification.
  • Must have State of Maryland HVAC Journeyman license.
  • Must be either a member in good standing of UA Local Union 486 or willing to become a member.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Must possess a valid EPA Universal Section 608 certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and certifications on Johnson Controls METASYS control system preferred.
  • Pipefitter experience preferred.
  • Preferred to have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on HVAC systems and components.
  • Maintain and repair piping systems, including cutting, bending, and fabricating using various materials such as steel, copper, and PVC.
  • Install and replace HVAC equipment, ensuring proper connection and functionality.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on pumps, air separators, expansion tanks, air handlers, fan coils, exhaust fans, cooling towers, air compressors, dampers, coils, motors, control valves, pressure reducing valves, relief valves, and other support systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to pass customer background check.
