This is an onsite role requiring 5 days per week in Plano, TX. The 2nd Shift is from 3pm-11:30pm. The technician will be responsible for setting up and performing tests on equipment and test setups for clients, adapting and building test equipment, examining test samples, and reading blueprints and schematics. They will follow defined test plans, evaluate test performance, record and explain test results, and complete test reports. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, performing routine maintenance, and potentially basic calibration. The technician will read and understand specific test standards, initiate recommendations for new equipment designs, and report data to engineers. Communication with clients during test setups and to discuss test methods and results may be required. The position operates with minimal supervision within defined limits of responsibility. Data is recorded on UL forms, and data sheets and test reports are prepared. Planning tests, evaluating results, and reporting interpretations may be directed. Continuous improvement concepts and techniques are integrated into all aspects of the job, with suggestions for improving accuracy and efficiencies communicated to management and technical staff.
