Responsible for performing routine and emergency tasks in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilating, refrigeration, air conditioning, and other mechanical power equipment. Requirements

  • Able to read blueprints and building control schematics.
  • Basic mathematics skills including adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying.
  • Proficiency with smart devices such as cell phones and tablets, including the ability to respond to messages and emails and to use apps such as a work order system.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment, complete projects by deadlines, and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to communicate in order to give and receive information.
  • A collaborative team player, who can coordinate work effectively with employees, team members, and outside vendors.
  • Strong customer service with a can-do attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Mechanical Journeyman’s license issued by State of Oklahoma required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the HVAC field required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • EPA/CFC certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous HVAC/mechanical experience in an institutional or industrial setting such as a large hospital or university preferred.
  • Previous experience servicing and maintaining high pressure boilers, variable speed motors, large tonnage centrifugal chillers (800 tons or larger), plate heat exchangers, and water treatment systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems.
  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs ice making and refrigeration equipment.
  • Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and restoring the function of HVAC or mechanical systems.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
  • Maintains vehicle, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.
