About The Position

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) is seeking an experienced HVACR Technician to join their team as an Instructor. This role offers the opportunity to mentor and train the next generation of technicians. UTI emphasizes hands-on learning and interactive teaching methods to prepare students for careers in various industries. The instructor will be responsible for imparting expertise in heating and air conditioning systems and components, guiding students through practical application of modern HVACR technology.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of practical work experience in refrigeration, commercial, residential, mini splits, boilers, etc. (excluding teaching)
  • EPA 608/Universal /OSHA 10-30 highly valued
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective connection with students and staff
  • A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace

Responsibilities

  • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, fostering their passion for the HVACR industry while imparting expert knowledge.
  • Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real-world experience in diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
  • Collaborate with the education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements.
  • Guide and mentor students on their projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
  • Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.
