HVAC Installation Lead
About The Position
Edwards Electrical & Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC Installation Lead to join their team. This role involves leading and supervising a team of HVAC installers on job sites, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and overseeing the installation and replacement of commercial HVAC equipment. Requirements
- 5+ years of HVAC installation experience (commercial preferred)
- Proven experience leading crews or acting as a lead installer
- Strong knowledge of equipment change-outs and retrofit projects
- EPA Certification required or ability to obtain
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and compliance
- Ability to work independently and lead a team with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license required
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate a team of HVAC installers on job sites
- Serve as the primary person responsible for job site safety, ensuring all team members follow safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and company standards
- Conduct job site safety checks, enforce PPE usage, and address any hazards immediately
- Remove and replace commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, condensers, air handlers, and associated components
- Install and modify ductwork, piping, and equipment supports as needed
- Perform retrofit installations in existing facilities
- Assist with system start-ups and verify proper system operation
- Ensure all work meets code requirements, safety standards, and company expectations
- Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and provide hands-on support to team members
- Train and mentor apprentices
- Work closely with Service Technicians and Service Managers to coordinate projects and timelines
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers on-site
- Complete job documentation accurately and on time
