About The Position

FirstCall Mechanical Company is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Installation Mechanic Helper to join their fast-growing team in Asheville, NC. Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in install mechanic
• Valid Driver License with acceptable driving record
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to frequently lift 75 pounds
• Ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Sufficient physical ability to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by projects
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Help technicians install equipment and duct work
• Help technicians complete their paperwork daily, and record materials used on each job, in an accurate manner
• Learn how to fabricate duct fittings and layout job
• Understand how to read a blueprint
• Perform all jobs with safety first in mind
