About The Position

The Residential HVAC Install Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential homes. This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will lead a team of installers, ensure compliance with industry standards, and deliver high-quality installations that meet customer expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification or technical training preferred.
  • 3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (required).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, airflow, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using HVAC tools, testing equipment, and power tools.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and withstand extreme temperatures.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the installation of residential HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
  • Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, local building codes, and company standards.
  • Supervise and train installation crew members, ensuring proper techniques and best practices are followed.
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance and troubleshoot installation issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with homeowners and project managers to ensure smooth installation processes.
  • Review job orders, blueprints, and specifications before beginning installations.
  • Plan daily work schedules, manage job site workflow, and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure all necessary equipment, tools, and materials are available for each job.
  • Work with sales and service teams to provide feedback on job scope, installation challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Explain system functions, maintenance requirements, and warranty details to homeowners.
  • Address customer concerns and ensure satisfaction with the installation process.
  • Provide clear and professional communication with customers, team members, and supervisors.
  • Ensure all team members follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Use proper safety gear and enforce safe worksite practices, including electrical safety and proper refrigerant handling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site, disposing of old equipment and materials properly.
  • Complete and submit installation paperwork, job reports, and warranty registration forms.
  • Maintain records of job progress, equipment usage, and any installation modifications.
  • Report any issues or required follow-up work to supervisors and service teams.
