Service Technician Job Summary: Perform HVAC equipment maintenance: Repair and replace equipment, components. Independent diagnostics, troubleshooting. Responsibilities specific to equipment include, but are not limited to, the following: Single and double water-cooled centrifugal chillers up to 200-2,700 tons. Screw chillers up to 400 tons. Air-cooled chillers up to 530 tons. Centrifugal screw Templifier heat pumps. Magnetic drive chillers from 100 to 700 tons. Overview of essential tasks and responsibilities. Other tasks may be assigned: Perform warranty service: Independently inspect and test systems to verify the functionality of all Category I, II, and III equipment. Perform commissioning: Verify the functionality of new Category I, II, and III equipment. Inform customers about proper equipment use, maintenance schedule, and user manual. Refurbishments and modernizations: Lead the refurbishment and modernization of a Category I, II, and III unit. Lead Level I and II technicians by demonstrating necessary steps. Perform refurbishment of centrifugal equipment. Site safety: Wear personal protective equipment when performing service tasks. Perform site hazard assessment before starting service. Comply with Daikin Applied and customer safety policies. Customer service: Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and verbal and written communication. Interact with the customer by providing service status reports before, during, and after each call. Explain technical information to informed and uninformed audiences. Sales support: Communicate potential sales opportunities to sales staff through the technician quote process. Identify and present minor repair opportunities directly to the customer. Computer use: Basic data entry and ability to navigate email, internet, and word processing programs. Download programs into Category I-II equipment and microcontrollers. Analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance. Compliance: Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and clean workplace maintenance are respected at all times.
