Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to support the Facilities Operations Group. This role is directly responsible for maintaining utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab, which operates 24/7/365. The engineer will focus on capacity management, problem-solving, root cause analysis, engineering design, cost estimating, financial management, project management, and system documentation. A key aspect of the role involves integrating reliability focus and risk analysis, including FMEA's, root cause analysis, design, commissioning, training, and 8D problem-solving methods. The engineer will also develop and review operations and maintenance procedures, be available to the Operations Team for technical system issues, and assist in troubleshooting system operational issues. Forecasting system capacity needs, developing plans to accommodate demand, and identifying capacity concerns are crucial. The role involves forecasting costs, managing expenditures, and implementing cost reduction projects. Effective communication and collaboration with internal customer organizations are essential. The engineer will analyze equipment/system data, apply 5S methodology, standardize best practices, and drive the implementation of innovative concepts and technologies. Responsibilities also include assisting with system design, construction, startup/commissioning, and creating/modifying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
