About The Position

DK is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to lead estimation for commercial new construction, design-builds, and major renovation projects. The role involves performing complete material and labor takeoffs for HVAC systems, ductwork, sheet metal, hydronic piping, and commercial plumbing. You will also be responsible for assembling, reviewing, and submitting accurate project proposals and pre-bid estimates, as well as evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes to optimize project costs. Proficiency in digital estimation tools is essential for high-precision calculations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, proven experience in commercial HVAC project estimation.
  • Excellent hands-on knowledge and command of Electronic Takeoff Systems (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, or similar applications).
  • Strong capability to perform detailed material/labor takeoffs and apply mathematical concepts/conversions to analyze blueprints accurately.
  • Must possess excellent critical thinking, organization, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screen upon a conditional offer of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A formal degree in Mechanical Engineering is highly desired.
  • Deep expertise in estimating commercial ductwork, sheet metal, and complex hydronic piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead estimation for commercial new construction, design-builds, and major renovation projects.
  • Perform complete material and labor takeoffs for HVAC systems, ductwork, sheet metal, hydronic piping, and commercial plumbing to pinpoint material quantities, labor hours, and baseline costs.
  • Assemble, review, and submit accurate, comprehensive project proposals and pre-bid estimates directly to commercial clients.
  • Review preliminary quotes and execute competitive trade bid comparisons to optimize commercial project numbers.
  • Utilize electronic takeoff systems and project tracking platforms (such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Builder Trend, etc.) for high-precision calculations.
