We have an exciting opportunity for a HVAC Engineering Intern located in Fond du Lac, WI. Ahern, one of the leading mechanical and fire protection contractors in the United States, has an exciting opportunity for an Intern to work within our Engineer team based in our Corporate office in Fond du Lac, WI. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering program.
  • Must be comfortable working in MS Office programs.
  • Passionate about deepening knowledge of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed layouts for various HVAC projects under the mentorship of an experienced engineer.
  • Observe and support a seasoned engineer in providing engineering oversite of the layout of these HVAC systems, equipment selections, and layouts.
  • Provide information to our estimating team relative to the bid packages.
  • Participate in the review process for HVAC specification development, layout control strategies.
  • Provide engineering input into the operations plans for system commissioning and start-up.
  • Work closely with building owners and project managers to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance on new or existing systems.
