Ahern, a leading mechanical and fire protection contractor, has an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Engineering Intern to join their Engineer team at their Corporate office in Fond du Lac, WI. This internship focuses on providing hands-on experience in HVAC project design and engineering, offering a pathway to potential full-time roles after graduation. Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering program.
- Comfortable working in MS Office programs.
- Passionate about deepening knowledge of mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed layouts for various HVAC projects under the mentorship of an experienced engineer.
- Observe and support a seasoned engineer in providing engineering oversight of HVAC system layouts.
- Assist with equipment selections for HVAC systems.
- Provide information to the estimating team relative to bid packages.
- Participate in the review process for HVAC specification development and layout control strategies.
- Provide engineering input into the operations plans for system commissioning and start-up.
- Collaborate with building owners and project managers to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance on new or existing systems.
