HVAC Engineer-JLL What this job involves: As an HVAC Engineer at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining exceptional building environments while shaping a brighter way forward in facility operations. This hands-on role requires a highly skilled professional who can install, repair, and maintain complex HVAC systems across our diverse portfolio of commercial properties. You'll work both independently and collaboratively, applying your technical expertise to troubleshoot equipment, optimize system performance, and ensure tenant comfort. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems and equipment
  • EPA Universal Certification for refrigerant handling required
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, cooling towers, CTUs, and building automation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, technical schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Proven ability to work independently, handle complex technical issues, and work through complicated tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade certification or apprenticeship completion in HVAC or refrigeration
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation platforms
  • Knowledge of water treatment procedures and testing for cooling and hot water systems
  • Experience in commercial real estate or corporate facilities environments
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards including ASHRAE, local mechanical codes, and safety regulations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment including air handlers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and refrigeration systems located both inside and outside buildings
  • Perform senior-level troubleshooting, service, and maintenance on Controlled Temperature Units (CTU), HVAC controls, BMS, actuators, valves, dampers, and motors
  • Conduct routine assessments and monitoring of mechanical operating equipment, including refrigeration, heat exchangers, chilled water systems, and ventilation equipment
  • Work from CAD drawings, prints, schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions to install, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and related piping
  • Apply water treatment methods and procedures for cooling and hot water circulation systems, including testing parameters, troubleshooting problems, and repairing equipment
  • Analyze system operations, determine the cause of malfunctions, and take corrective action while maintaining positive tenant relations through prompt, courteous service
  • Assist other mechanics and operators with major maintenance and repairs of building equipment, and contribute to refrigeration management initiatives.
