About The Position

The HVAC Duct Cleaning & Duct Sealing Technician inspects, cleans, repairs, and seals residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems. The role supports improved indoor air quality, HVAC efficiency, and system performance while providing professional customer service. The technician performs duct-cleaning and sealing work, evaluates systems for leaks, damage, contamination, and airflow restrictions, documents completed work with photos and reports, and operates specialized equipment. The position also involves maintaining a clean work area, explaining findings and recommendations to customers, following safety practices, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, and assisting with HVAC installation, repair, and maintenance when needed. Training and ongoing professional development are part of the role.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other confined areas.

Nice To Haves

Previous HVAC, duct cleaning, insulation, restoration, or construction experience.
Experience with Aeroseal or other duct-sealing technologies.
Knowledge of HVAC airflow, static pressure, and duct design principles.
NADCA certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Experience operating duct-cleaning equipment and negative air machines.
Experience working directly with homeowners.
Basic computer and mobile app proficiency for documentation and communication.
EPA Certification (helpful but not required).
HVAC service or installation experience.

Responsibilities

Perform residential and light commercial duct cleaning services.
Clean supply ducts, return ducts, registers, grilles, air handlers, and related HVAC components.
Seal ducts using approved methods and materials, including mastic, aerosol sealing systems, and mechanical repairs.
Inspect duct systems for air leakage, damage, contamination, and airflow restrictions.
Take before-and-after photos and document completed work.
Set up and operate duct-cleaning and sealing equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in customers' homes and businesses.
Educate customers about findings, recommended repairs, and system performance improvements.
Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices.
Complete jobs, service reports, and job documentation accurately.
Assist with HVAC installations, repairs, and maintenance when needed.
Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Participate in training and ongoing professional development.
Complete duct-cleaning jobs to company quality standards.
Consistently document jobs with photos and notes.
Identify duct leakage, airflow, and indoor air quality opportunities when present.
Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and equipment inventory.
Recommend accessories, repairs, and duct sealing when appropriate.
