About The Position

We here at the Gustave A Larson Company are looking our next team member to join us as a Counter Sales Representative/Warehouse Attendant. We are an HVAC/R wholesale distributor throughout the Midwest and the great Plains area. We learn & understand the entire business - part of our training program involves learning and understanding from the beginning how our business operates - you will spend time initially learning the warehouse, counter, product knowledge and quoting so you have a solid foundation in your role.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Counter Sales Representative or customer service experience, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum 2 years of HVACR field experience, and/or degree/certification in HVACR is strongly preferred.
Combination of education and related experience will also be considered.
Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
Enthusiastic, energetic, creative, customer-focused professional.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and provides accuracy and timeliness.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Individual must be flexible with changes in work schedule, willing to work overtime and be on-call occasionally on weekends.
Must be skilled in verbal and written communication and have sufficient education to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must have basic math skills and able to perform or learn the requirements of the job within the assigned learning period.
Required to accept and follow all safety rules and policies, including the use of all mandated safety protective equipment.
Individual must agree to take pre-employment drug test and background check and comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Understanding HVAC residential systems is a must, and that experience is needed to assist in selling the right equipment and recommending the right systems for the jobs our customers have.
Individual must be flexible with changes in work schedule, willing to work overtime and be on-call occasionally on weekends (this is an additional pay opportunity).

Responsibilities

Deliver on promises at the Counter in our locations.
Meet customers’ needs by being present and in person with our customers at our location, on the phone, and managing and fulfilling online orders quickly.
Assist in selling the right equipment and recommending the right systems for the jobs our customers have.
Learn and continually improve on sales skills and product knowledge to maintain competitive advantage in very high paced and competitive environment.
Provide customer service expertise and support to pricing, quoting, credit terms and orders, and doing this consistently.
Process sales, credit transactions, and processing warranty paperwork.
Know the store, stock it, and help keep it clean.
Assist in the operation of the daily warehouse duties which includes: Operating Forklifts (sit down, Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, etc), pulling product for Will Calls, organizing truck loads to their proper locations when trucks are received, using RF scanning technology for locating/picking product, and stocking small parts as needed.
Coordinate sales efforts with warehouse, counter sales, and inside sales teams.
Operate and react quickly to customer needs.
Learn the warehouse, counter, product knowledge and quoting.
