The HVAC Controls Technician applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. This role requires expertise in Building Automation to set up, troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate electronic components for EMCS (Energy Management Control System) computer control. The technician will also troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems and equipment. A thorough understanding of Psychometrics, including the psychometric chart as it relates to air temperature and humidity, is essential. The role involves recognizing probable interactions of other related programs with assigned programs and familiarity with related system software and computer equipment. Programs developed or modified are typically linked, where the output of one becomes the input for another. This position may provide technical guidance to lower-level Programmers, Technicians, and Mechanics.
