This is a REMOTE position for an HVAC Controls Systems Data Center Team Lead with Johnson Controls. Requirements

• Technical associate’s degree required
• 1 - 3 years of related field experience in the HVAC/Controls industry or similar Building Automation Systems with System Design or System Engineering.
• Must have relevant technical hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform work independently.
• Strong personal computer skills.
• Must have knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete control systems projects with assigned customers.
• Perform or delegate tasks required for hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.
• Manage the overall financial results of assigned projects, including costs, billings, and collections.
• Maintain a balance between customer satisfaction and project financial results.
• Actively pursue selling change orders.
• Coordinate communication with the customer during all project phases.
• Ensure proper execution of warranty.
• Provide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administration.
• Ensure work performed adheres to legal requirements and operates with high ethics.
• Adhere to and ensure Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards.
• Complete typical installation hardware design and software programming using established standards.
• Provide detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, Johnson Controls staff, and subcontractors.
• Evaluate contractual scope of work and the impact of client-issued bulletins, field directives, and/or scheduling changes.
• Communicate technical and business-related issues with clients.
• Manage the selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedule of materials.
• Secure pricing and availability from outside vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, including scope, terms, and conditions.
• May request several bids in the pricing process.
• Oversee subcontractor payment and billing processes.
• Provide jobsite coordination for panel and field device physical locations.
• Ensure installation is in accordance with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.
• Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers.
• Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and others.
• Provide accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation.
• Maintain profitability goals and positive cash flow.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, and System Designers.
• Provide technical assistance to subcontractors, ensuring delegated tasks are done accurately, on time, billed within budget, and within scope.
• Effectively communicate project status to management and provide monthly forecasts of revenue, costs, and gross margin.
• Send warranty letter to JCI customer upon substantial project completion and ensure proper execution of warranty.
• Develop project plans and coordinate required resources for timely and cost-effective installation and completion.
• Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
• Provide proper documentation and manuals for system operation.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Attend job progress meetings as required.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers on bundled jobs to deliver cost-efficient solutions.
• Adhere to safety standards, with a high regard for contract and subcontractor safety.
