About The Position

As an HVAC Controls Systems Designer, you will support the design, programming, commissioning, and documentation of HVAC control systems. Working under direct supervision and established standards, you will help ensure each project meets the intent of the customer’s requirements and is clearly communicated to internal teams, customers, consultants, and subcontractors.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Demonstrated technical aptitude.
Demonstrated advanced computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, or 5+ years in the HVAC field.
Experience designing or evaluating mechanical/electrical building systems or control systems.

Responsibilities

Select hardware designs from the standard design library for flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
Perform software programming using established standards as the basis of design.
Coordinate the creation of drawings and equipment schedules for submittments and installation.
Select, order, and track materials for assigned projects and coordinate factory-mounting processes to align with project schedules.
Assist with loading and commissioning system and network-level controllers, validate overall system functionality, and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades.
Gather field changes and create as-built drawings and software; prepare documentation and manuals for system operation.
Keep management and the customer informed of job progress, issues, and next steps.
Support site-specific training for owner/operators on the total system.
Complete time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation accurately and on time.
Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
