Under general direction, the HVAC Controls Project acts as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner. Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout. Responsibilities include ensuring financial results, maintaining customer satisfaction, and adhering to safety and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Technical Associate's Degree with two years of field experience, or equivalent related field experience
  • Proficiency in Building Automation Systems design and commissioning
  • Appropriate licensing, certifications, and relevant hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects effectively
  • Strong personal computer and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the on-site project leader to plan, execute, and complete projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Ensures financial results, maintains customer satisfaction, and adheres to safety and ethical standards.
  • Collaborates effectively across project teams to achieve optimal outcomes, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately, on-time, and within budget.
  • Designs and programs installation hardware and software using established standards, providing detailed information to communicate design and operation to customers, staff, and subcontractors.
  • Proactively manages project scope and client communications, addressing technical and business issues effectively to maintain alignment with client expectations.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating project outcomes and leveraging insights for future enhancements.
  • Ensures adherence to safety standards and regulations, fostering an environment of accountability and integrity on all job sites.
  • Coordinates resources and provides technical guidance to team members and subcontractors, enhancing project execution efficiency.
  • Performs system commissioning and validation, ensuring proper operation and resolving any issues to deliver fully functional systems.
  • Develops comprehensive project plans, ensuring timely and cost-effective project execution and completion.
  • Conducts site-specific training for clients, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge to operate their systems effectively.
