HVAC Controls & BAS Instructor
About The Position
Lincoln Tech, in partnership with Johnson Controls, is seeking experienced HVAC Controls and Building Automation System (BAS) Technicians to provide hands-on training that prepares students for real-world careers. In this instructor role, you will teach HVAC Controls and BAS fundamentals, lead labs using industry equipment, and coach students through troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and diagnostics. You will share practical field experience to help students succeed. No prior teaching experience is required; training and curriculum will be provided. The position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, with a Monday–Friday schedule and minimal travel. WorkforceLinc describes its training as reflecting field conditions through industry partnerships, real equipment, and hands-on learning environments.
Requirements
- Experience with HVAC Controls, DDC, or Building Automation Systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
- Computer proficiency and comfort with technical software.
- Experience with installation, startup, commissioning, or service work.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys.
- Experience with BACnet/IP networks.
- Experience with controller programming and configuration.
- Experience with controller setup and commissioning tools.
- Experience with field startup and commissioning.
Responsibilities
