The HVAC Career Technical Trade Instructor is responsible for fostering a positive and disciplined learning environment to maximize student motivation and learning. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the HVAC Career Technical Training field, delivering lessons through diverse multimodal approaches to accommodate all learning styles and building strong rapport with students. Key responsibilities include preparing classrooms, maintaining current lesson plans aligned with Industry Standards and Training Achievement Records, and managing daily attendance and Job Corps forms. The instructor ensures the safety and cleanliness of classrooms and shops, develops industry partnerships for work-based learning, internships, and job placement, and assists students in securing primary and secondary credentials. Administrative duties involve updating electronic Training Achievement Records (eTAR), preparing various reports (student/staff hours, requisitions, attendance, monthly evaluations), and supporting student placement into employment, military, college, apprenticeships, or advanced training. The instructor must operate in compliance with PRH, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies, evaluate student progress, record case notes, assist supervisors with inventory, and consistently model appropriate CSS and employability skills. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accountability for staff, students, and property, adhering to safety practices, cultivating a harassment-free environment, and participating in all mandatory staff training.
