Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in high-voltage substation and transmission line project management, with experience on 500kV projects.
Proven success managing high-voltage projects in California, with direct experience working with utilities on complex regulatory and technical matters.
Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and interconnection processes for utility-scale projects.
Expertise in EPC contracts and transmission infrastructure, with knowledge of high-voltage equipment and systems.
Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Slack.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive project success.
Willingness to travel to project sites and lead on-site operations as needed.

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead the full lifecycle management of high-voltage substation and transmission projects at voltage levels up to 500kV, from design through commissioning and closeout.
Work closely with PG&E, SCE, SDG&E and other utilities to ensure project execution aligns with grid operator standards and resolve any technical or regulatory challenges.
Manage three-way relationships between internal resources, utilities, and EPC contractors to ensure engineering, construction, and procurement activities meet project milestone dates.
Manage project budgets, cash flows, and financial forecasting to ensure projects stay within financial targets.
Facilitate invoice reviews and change orders, collaborating with finance teams to maintain transparency and accuracy across financial documentation.
Oversee financial and progress reporting to ensure alignment with both organizational goals and external stakeholder expectations.
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring alignment with utility and contractor timelines.
Lead the development and administration of construction contracts for high-voltage substation and transmission projects.
Manage agreements with contractors, utilities, vendors, and third-party stakeholders to ensure all deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
Design and implement quality assurance processes to ensure construction practices on site meets the technical requirements and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, Power Purchase Agreements, and interconnection requirements.
Prepare comprehensive reports for both internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, financial status, and risk mitigation strategies.
Maintain clear, consistent communication with utilities and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
Manage engineering documents, including RFIs, submittmits, and as-builts, ensuring timely responses to technical issues and prompt resolution of action items.
