About The Position

We are the world’s top supplier of automotive test facilities, providing a full range of services to commercial automotive industry customers. Customers include not only the world’s major vehicle providers and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), but also clients from the international motor sports community. We are hiring a HV Battery Material Compliance Tool/Process Owner Engineer in Dearborn, MI. This position is responsible for taking ownership and overseeing the Material/Substance Compliance Tool(s) used to support an HV battery facility. The tool/process business owner should be familiar with restricted substance/material compliance processes and tools. This individual will work very closely with IT, purchasing and the general tool user population.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Complete proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong leadership skills, self-motivated and self-driven

  • Experience in Material Compliance and Restricted Substance Control
  • Knowledge of: iPoint Software Applications including iPoint Approval

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate exemplary Ford OS behaviors – Excellence, Focus, and Collaboration
  • Manage day to day software issues reported by users and assist IT in understanding any issues from a business perspective.
  • Support bug and enhancement ticket tracking meetings with software (COTS) vendor to prioritize tickets and vendor action
  • Responsible to oversee multi annual system releases and coordinating the business testing plans and reviewing outcomes
  • Responsible Directly Responsible Individual for post testing business approval of new system releases
  • Co-Develop year over year enhancement plan for the system(s) based on the changing regulatory landscape and company needs
  • Provide business rationale support to IT and Purchasing to justify rationale for annual funding for updates and upgrades to the tool(s)
  • Review global regulations to update the Restricted Substance List on an annual basis to ensure that the backbone of the compliance checking system is up to date and catching any changing or new Materials/Substance Compliance Regulations
  • Perform system rule updates to implement new or modified checks required by changes to the restricted substance list
  • Create and implement (in the system) any additionally requested substance groups to allow for product assessments or government reporting requirements
  • Participate in Materials Engineering Department training events and committees.
