About The Position
Support in vivo oncology research studies in mice as a member of the Vivarium Operations Husbandry Team. This role involves performing daily tasks, monitoring animal health, maintaining sanitation, and adhering to study protocols within a research laboratory and vivarium environment.
Requirements
- GED.
- Strong computer skills.
- Manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, and lift throughout the work shift.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Routine exposure to odors and chemicals.
- Routine exposure to sharps.
- Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue.

- 1 year of related experience in a Contract Research Organization or similar research setting.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily cage checks and weekly cage changes.
- Monitor animal health and report animal health concerns.
- Perform general sanitation on equipment, rooms, and facilities.
- Transport materials, supplies, and waste.
- Assist with surgical staple removal and study randomization.
- Record data within room logs and the laboratory information management system.
- Read, understand, and adhere to study protocols.
- Perform general preparation and organizational activities, including supply organization and stocking, and laboratory organization.
- Work weekends and holidays on rotating basis.
