Requirements

  • Ability to perform animal husbandry tasks safely and effectively.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous animal care, agricultural, veterinary, kennel, farm, or husbandry experience.
  • Experience working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Experience maintaining records or completing required documentation.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail when caring for animals and completing required documentation.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards of animal welfare and facility cleanliness.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicates observations and concerns clearly and professionally.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn multiple functional areas through cross-training.

Responsibilities

  • Use proper animal handling techniques while monitoring and reporting animal health concerns.
  • Perform routine animal husbandry duties, including animal movements, regrouping, cage setup, bedding, feed management, and cage sanitation.
  • Administer vaccinations and complete required documentation.
  • Assist with medication administration as directed by Vet staff.
  • Assist with PM whelp activities.
  • Clean barns, cages, and equipment to support animal welfare and facility standards.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently within established labor standards.
  • Communicate animal observations and concerns to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
