Under the supervision of the Group Sales or Department Manager, the Team Leader gives daily direction to the associates in one of the departments within the store, to include: merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. The Team Leader supports the GSM / DM in achievement of Departmental Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage and Payroll Goals. They provide daily direction to the associates within the department, prepare to-do/task lists, and execute all merchandising directives. The role ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers, assists with staffing and training, and coaches associates to promote positive customer relations. The Team Leader resolves customer and associate opportunities, maintains a high level of personal customer service, and remains a product expert through ongoing training. They also assist with special events, pricing and UPC integrity, assortment accuracy, inventory accuracy, and display/signing/pricing of advertised items. The Team Leader assists the GSM/DM in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. They provide a legendary experience for every customer by assisting customers in making buying decisions, identifying and evaluating customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
