About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Part-Time Hunting Sales Associate. The company strives to be the best retailer in the USA in the eyes of its customers, associates, and business partners. This role involves delivering a personalized customer experience, maintaining a team-first mentality, adapting to change, taking pride in work, and acting with honesty and integrity. The associate will be responsible for greeting customers, providing exceptional service, growing personal sales, creating a positive end-user experience, maintaining visual merchandising standards, processing freight, restocking inventory, demonstrating product usage, retrieving products from heights, attending training and meetings, assisting in training new associates, and using various computer systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 months of sales experience
  • Must be over the age of 21 (if processing firearms)
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
  • Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience
  • Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing
  • Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking
  • Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
  • Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings
  • Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise
  • Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
  • Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team
