About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Hunting and Fishing Sales Associate who will contribute to a culture that thrives on delivering a personalized WOW customer experience, has a team-first, winning mentality, learns and adapts to constant change, takes pride in their work and thinks like an owner, and expects honesty and integrity in all that they do. The associate will greet customers, deliver exceptional customer service by determining customer needs and recommending appropriate products, grow personal sales by hitting set goals, create a positive end-user experience, maintain visual merchandising standards, process freight, restock inventory, demonstrate product usage, retrieve product from heights, attend training and meetings, assist in training new associates, and navigate computer systems. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1-3 months of sales experience. The position involves heavy work, potentially exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 50 pounds frequently, to move objects. Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1-3 months of sales experience
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400

Responsibilities

Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop
Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience
Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing
Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking
Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings
Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise
Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team
