About Norfolk Regional Center The Norfolk Regional Center (NRC) was created by an act of the Nebraska Legislature in 1885. NRC currently serves two distinct populations of adult males who are committed by a Mental Health Board for inpatient psychiatric treatment. In 2006, NRC began providing treatment to individuals who have sexually offended. The Nebraska Sex Offender (SO) Treatment Program improves public safety by reducing the risk of re-offense, while also improving the quality of patients' lives. In 2018, NRC opened the Medical Support Program and began providing high quality nursing and medical treatment for men with significant physical conditions and a variety of psychiatric, cognitive, and aging issues. The program provides activities designed to maintain optimal functioning while at the same time meeting the specific psychiatric care and safety needs of each patient.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, such as psychology, sociology, special education, counseling, human development, education or speech communication
Experience working with persons with intellectual or other developmental disabilities and/or mental illness
Experience developing training, treatment or habilitation programs.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Develop and facilitate psycho-educational skills training groups for adult male sex offenders, focusing on areas such as anger management, emotion management, problem-solving, and healthy relationship development.
Serve as the treatment plan coordinator for a caseload of 10-12 patients, working closely with the multidisciplinary treatment team and patients to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
Prepare and maintain the treatment planning schedule for the multidisciplinary treatment team, ensuring timely completion of all treatment plans.
Conduct chart reviews to gather pertinent data on patient behavior, contributing to the evaluation of patient functioning and informing treatment strategies.
