About The Position

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is offering a career growth opportunity for a motivated individual to join the Charles River West Area Office in Waltham as a Human Services Coordinator Supervisor (Human Services Coordinator II). This role involves building partnerships with individuals, families, guardians, provider agencies, and stakeholders. The Human Services Coordinator II will provide direct supervision, support, consultation, and orientation to Human Service Coordinator Is (HSC I) and other staff. This position is a key member of the Area Office management team, contributing to the planning and resource allocation for community services.

Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, case management or clinical/therapeutic experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
  • A current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment (if using a motor vehicle for travel).

  • Knowledge of DDS and generic programs, services, and resources available to individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to act as an advocate of human rights.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, prioritization, and coordination of work by assigned staff, including administrative, supportive, and educational components.
  • Monitoring of Individual Service Plans.
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring case documentation is maintained and consistent with standards.
  • Identifying and addressing individual cases involving health, safety, risk, and changing needs, bringing them to the attention of the Area Director or designee(s), and engaging in problem-solving.
  • Monitoring and providing consistent performance planning, feedback, and evaluations to assigned staff.
  • Performing other related duties as required, including providing coverage for absent HSC Is.
