About The Position

Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Part-Time Male Human Service Worker at our Vantage Point North Center in American Fork, Utah. In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you'll provide direct support and supervision to adolescent boys ages 12–17 who are navigating behavioral, emotional, and safety challenges in a short-term crisis setting. Vantage Point is a voluntary youth crisis facility offering a safe, supportive space for youth experiencing challenges such as family conflict, suicidal ideation, trauma-related behaviors, anxiety, depression, or risk of homelessness. As part of a highly trained and compassionate team, you'll help create a structured environment that promotes stabilization, safety, and growth while building valuable skills in behavior intervention and crisis support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm, patient, and grounded during challenging situations
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn
  • Must pass a background check and meet WBH hiring standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or education in mental/behavioral health is helpful but not required
  • Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, support, and structure to adolescent boys (ages 12–17) in a short-term crisis care setting
  • Create a safe, stable, and supportive environment for youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, and safety challenges
  • Assist with daily routines, activities, and skill-building to promote stability and positive behavior
  • Use de-escalation and behavior intervention techniques to support youth in crisis
  • Monitor youth safety, including those experiencing suicidal ideation, trauma-related behaviors, or family conflict
  • Support intake processes, including welcoming walk-ins and helping ensure safety and readiness for admission
  • Assist with medication management under supervision, following proper protocols
  • Collaborate with therapists and team members to support individualized care and treatment goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates on youth behavior and progress
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth while encouraging growth, accountability, and resilience
