About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the HR function. This entry-level position will assist with onboarding, recruiting, employee records, benefits, HR systems, training, and other day-to-day HR activities within a federal government contracting environment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and interested in building a career in Human Resources. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple HR functions while learning the policies, systems, and compliance requirements that support our workforce.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, are preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within federal government contracting, professional services, or another regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, recruiting, employment practices, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational interpersonal, and customer service skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, and HR technology platforms, experience with ADP Workforce Now, Unanet, JazzHR or comparable systems are preferred.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple HR responsibilities, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately escalate sensitive or complex employee matters.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to perform the role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Unanet, JazzHR or comparable systems are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day HR activities and provide professional and responsive administrative support to employees, management, and the HR team.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, personnel changes, and new-hire documentation while maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Enter and update employee information in HR and workforce systems and assist with personnel files, reports, timesheet follow-up, and other HR documentation.
  • Support recruiting activities, including posting positions, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, and assisting with new-hire processing.
  • Assist with benefits administration, annual open enrollment, leave documentation, employee training, and related employee communications.
  • Support HR policies, compliance documentation, performance management activities, employee communications, and special HR projects as assigned.
