About The Position

The primary function of the Human Resources Specialist, under the supervision of the HR Manager, is to provide administrative support to the Human Resources and EHS functions. HR Specialists should understand the roles and functions of human resources and safety within the organization.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience preferably in manufacturing/production environment; or, equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Ability to organize work assignments and multi-task.
  • Above average computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Must be a good communicator (written and verbal) and able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Time Management Skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Results Driven
  • Computer skills: Microsoft applications, payroll systems, HRIS systems
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and ethical practices.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate recruiting activities such as job postings, sourcing, applicant tracking, resume review, and interview scheduling.
  • Responsible for new hire documentation, background screening, orientation and onboarding.
  • Coordinate/process temporary employees through communication with staffing agencies and Team Leads/Supervisors, ID Badges, time clock records, hire/release processes and documentation.
  • Assist Supervisors with employee relations, disciplinary actions and time record management.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information, verifications of employment, OESC claims and hearings, and FMLA correspondence.
  • Enter, track and maintain HR and EHS electronic records/files in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Coordinate or assist with planning and execution of company meetings/events.
  • Scan documents into electronic files, make photocopies, prepare correspondence, fax/email documents and perform general office duties.
  • Assist with special projects, audits or other duties as assigned.
  • Support and enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work location
