About The Position

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a Human Resource Specialist to support their customer in Indian Head, MD. This role involves providing comprehensive human resources support across various programs, including employee relations, labor relations, benefits, and personnel administration. The specialist will assist managers and employees with inquiries, manage HRIS data, track program metrics, draft official communications, maintain personnel records, coordinate meetings, and support various HR initiatives and projects.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in human resources, management, business administration, or other relevant fields.
  • Two (2) years of recent experience in analyzing, managing, and improving major aspects of human resources, organizational processes, and functions.
  • A minimum of one (1) year in a Federal Agency environment.
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three (3) years of experience may be substituted for the Associate’s degree.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DoD and Navy processes, particularly in Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Providing professional support to managers and employees by responding to routine inquiries regarding employee relations, labor relations, benefits, and other human resources programs.
  • Inputting, extracting, compiling, and maintaining information within Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and other automated systems.
  • Tracking and reporting human resources program metrics using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Drafting, editing, proofreading, and formatting official correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other written communications in accordance with established standards.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and physical personnel records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Coordinating meetings, managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and supporting office workflow using Microsoft Outlook.
  • Assisting with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of documentation supporting human resources activities.
  • Providing exceptional customer service while supporting a variety of human resources initiatives, projects, and program activities.
  • Performing other human resources-related duties as assigned.
