This position assists and supports management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues. The specialist will assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures, and monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues. Key responsibilities include coordinating and conducting applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification. The role involves maintaining applicant flow, drug screen, orientation, and transfer request logs, as well as creating and maintaining new hire and personnel files and entering them into Human Resources Information Systems. The specialist will also assist with the orientation of new employees and monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies and standards. Ensuring accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9's) is crucial. The role supports processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures, as necessary, and informs Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property. Additional duties include creating and maintaining filing systems, generating Human Resources data reports, answering phone calls and recording messages, and creating and typing office correspondence using a computer. The Human Resources Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert and participate on project teams, and train new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, and information systems.
