In this generalist role, the ideal candidate will provide friendly external and internal customer service and collaborate with our fourteen department managers to manage full employee lifecycle processes, including but not limited to: Recruiting: Process new hire/position requisitions, post ads, represent the City at area community events, schools, college/university events and hiring fairs in the four states area. Guide our managers on best hiring practices and City employment policies regarding legally compliant interview questions, writing interview notes; manage paper applications, applicant review and tracking, communicating with candidates, extending job offers, notifying candidates not selected, and maintaining timely updates in our HRIS for hiring managers to view. Manage seasonal and summer hiring. Hiring/Onboarding: Assist HR/Safety Manager to schedule post-offer background checks, drug screens, and physicals; processing I-9 e-verifications, scheduling training and orientation and keeping a record of training on file; managing benefits and retirement discussions, login and enrollment, entering employees in HRIS and payroll portals; assisting with new hire orientation, id badge and new employee spotlight information and managing all other hiring processes. Audit new hire paperwork for accuracy. Notify IT of new hires, transfers and separations. Payroll/Benefits/Retirement/Insurance: data entry for payroll items in Naviline/Central Square (status sheets, pay rates, merit increases, promotions, longevity pay, stipends, etc.). Manage LAGERS, Mission Square retirement programs, life insurance programs, long term disability application process, employee fitness reimbursement, employee referral program, sick leave buy back twice annually. Process status sheets via Power DMS. Prepare and manage online open enrollment, QLEs, dependents aging out of benefits, and guidance to Medicare eligible employees and COBRA coverage. Works closely with vendors and finance department to update benefits rates and summary plan information. Serves as backup for employment verifications, FMLA, Care Leave, Parental Leave, Education Assistance. May process PSLF verifications. Process retiree information/notices to IT and benefits programs. Order retiree plaques and contact finance for retiree award funding. Assist Director with special projects or reports. May supervise interns or volunteers.
