About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist supports key HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, recruiting coordination, and leave of absence processes. This role provides day-to-day HR support to employees and managers, ensures accurate processing of HR activities, and assists with maintaining compliance with employment laws and company policies. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR, administrative, or related experience required
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and employment laws
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately rather than independently resolve complex matters

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or HR certification preferred
  • 3 or more years of HR, administrative, or related experience preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Supports managers with performance management processes and documentation, including disciplinary actions and coaching conversations
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of employee-related matters
  • Escalates complex employee relations issues, investigations, and sensitive situations to HR leadership as appropriate
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives and activities
  • Assists employees with general benefit-related questions and escalates more complex issues
  • Supports open enrollment activities, including employee communication and system updates
  • Maintains accurate benefit records and assists with compliance tracking/processes
  • Manages recruiting efforts, including job postings, sourcing, screening, and interview coordination
  • Partners with hiring managers to support the selection process for positions
  • Coordinates and facilitates onboarding activities to ensure a smooth new hire experience
  • Maintains applicant tracking system data and recruitment records
  • Coordinates administrative aspects of leave processes (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
  • Provides general guidance to employees on leave procedures and timelines
  • Maintains records and ensures documentation is complete and compliant
  • Assists with scheduling and tracking employee training programs
  • Supports learning initiatives and development activities
  • Maintains training records and reporting
  • Maintains employee records and ensures data accuracy in HR systems
  • Assists with policy updates and HR communications
  • Supports audits and compliance-related activities
  • Stays informed of employment law requirements and escalates concerns as needed
