About The Position

Performs specialized support in such areas as recruitment and employment. Responsible for the bank’s overall recruiting strategy. Performs all social media platforms for recruiting. Responsible for providing high-level administrative support of day-to-day human resources operation. Conduct relationships and activities consistent with established Bank policies, procedures and systems, the corporate code of conduct, Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. Develop, facilitate, and implement all phases of the recruitment process. Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization. Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries from applicants, employees, officers and the general public regarding questions concerning employment opportunities, employment processes and procedures. Assist hiring managers with questions related to the applicant tracking system. Submit job postings for vacant positions and ensure that postings are completed in accordance with departmental policies. Pre-screen candidates and set up interviews. Ensure the selection process is executed within recruitment standards and guidelines. Document and maintain records on recruiting activities in compliance with AAP standards and bank guidelines. Consistently demonstrate proficiency in providing exemplary customer service in person and by telephone. Actively listen to employees, applicants and visitors and maintain a friendly, positive, professional attitude. Resolve difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. Utilize computer software applications such as applicant tracking, word processing, spreadsheet, digital camera, payroll, time and attendance. Participate in community, college, and high school career fairs, both in-person and virtual. Build relationships with local colleges and high schools to recruit students. Work with the marketing department to attend community events for recruiting efforts. Work with the marketing department to utilize company social media sites and various job boards for recruiting efforts. Plan and coordinate in-house career fairs. Meet with department managers to identify recruitment needs for their department as well as assist with drafting detailed and accurate job descriptions. Assist managers with interviews and other selection materials as needed. Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resources staff during the hiring process. Serve as a back-up for completing new employee background checks and first day new employee paperwork. Assist with making job posting and candidate updates in the applicant tracking system as needed. Serve as a flexible member of the entire HR team, taking on roles as necessary to support the team, the bank and the holding company as needed. Be part of the Talent Team committee to strengthen recruitment outreach and share ideas for new and innovative recruitment methods. Take a lead role in developing an internship program. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain neat and orderly work area and ensure that all confidential records are secured and/or disposed of properly. Complete and attend all required training. Assist others in the department as needed and/or directed. May be assigned other duties and responsibilities. May be assigned work or training at other assigned locations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of recruiting experience, preferably with an affirmative action employer or Financial Institution
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in Human Resources is preferred
  • Experience utilizing job boards and social media for recruiting
  • Ability to develop strategic recruiting plans
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Planning, organizing, and networking skills
  • Ability to attend community events outside of normal working hours
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive, take initiative
  • Familiarity with employment laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; accurate grammar, spelling, punctuation and standard English usage; business correspondence formats, recordkeeping and filing methods; basic math calculations
  • PC skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred
  • Must possess good judgment skills and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with a large number of associates and members of the general public
  • Attention to detail required
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to drive a vehicle; must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus, but not required
