About The Position

The Human Resources Military Operations Specialist will support our client, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) by providing expert HR guidance aligned with military personnel processes. You will apply deep knowledge of military human capital systems to develop and execute effective personnel strategies, ensure policy compliance, and facilitate the integration of military talent across the Agency. In this role, you will work independently with minimal direction while serving as a trusted advisor to Agency stakeholders and mentoring team members as needed. In this role you will: Develop and implement personnel strategies that support Agency’s modernization goals and mission objectives. Provide expert consultation on military human resources processes including officer assignment cycles and HR systems across the Armed Services. Draft, review, and process military and civilian award nominations. Create innovative solutions to complex HR challenges and ensure policy compliance across all HR functional areas. Prepare written materials and presentations to brief senior leaders, ensuring clarity and precision. Use Excel and SharePoint for data analyses and tracking of HR initiatives.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • TEN (10) or more years' experience supporting military human resources functions. Experience should include, but not be limited to: Thorough knowledge of officer assignment cycles and military HR systems
  • Proven experience in managing military evaluations, performance documentation, and processing military/civilian awards
  • Superior attention to detail with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with and brief senior leaders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience drafting and processing high-level Department of War award nominations
  • Familiarity with manpower forecasting and tracking in support of military assignment cycles
  • Experience supporting Air Force, Navy, or Marine personnel programs
