About The Position

ClearPath Medical is an ISO 13485:2016 certified, FDA-registered contract manufacturer specializing in custom medical cable assemblies and interconnect solutions for OEM medical device customers. Based in Tustin, CA, we serve clients across diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical applications. Our team operates across two shifts. This is ClearPath Medical's first dedicated HR role. You will have direct access to the President and genuine influence over how people operations are built and run at a company with real growth momentum. The work you do here will not be incremental, it will be foundational. Specific opportunities include: Define and build HR infrastructure from the ground up, including policies, processes, and systems that will scale with the company. Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR generalist or HR manager experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal); must be comfortable conducting interviews, investigations, and employee communications in both languages
  • Demonstrated knowledge of California employment law, including wage and hour regulations, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, and EEO compliance
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting and working directly with external staffing agencies
  • Strong judgment and the ability to make decisions that prioritize company interests while treating employees with fairness and respect
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and standard business software (Microsoft Office Suite)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 13485, FDA, GMP, or similar)
  • PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SHRM-CP certification
  • Experience building or formalizing HR processes and documentation from the ground up
  • Familiarity with multi-shift manufacturing workforce management

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for all open positions, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation
  • Build and own a cost-effective recruiting strategy maintaining a strong pipeline for assembler, technician, and lead positions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staffing agency partners; negotiate agency terms and monitor performance to ensure cost-effective placements
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and debrief sessions with hiring managers
  • Ensure all hiring practices comply with EEOC guidelines and applicable California employment law
  • Design and facilitate a structured onboarding program for all new hires, including orientation, policy review, and role-specific training coordination
  • Manage offboarding processes including exit interviews, final pay coordination, and benefits termination
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and HR-related questions across both production shifts
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Support managers in documenting performance issues, issuing corrective actions, and executing performance improvement plans
  • Foster a respectful, compliant, and productive workplace culture on the production floor and across the organization
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures align with ISO 13485 quality management system requirements
  • Administer and communicate company policies including attendance, leave of absence (FMLA, CFRA), workers' compensation, and workplace safety
  • Stay current on California labor law and proactively update policies and practices as regulations change
  • Manage benefits administration including health insurance enrollment, open enrollment coordination, and employee inquiries
  • Assist leadership in evaluating market compensation and maintaining equitable pay practices
  • Support quarterly performance review cycles and provide guidance to managers on documentation and delivery
  • Identify patterns in turnover, absenteeism, or engagement and recommend proactive solutions
