About The Position

The Human Resources Manager serves as a key member of the corporate HR team, based in Liberty Lift's Houston, Texas corporate office and reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources. This role provides responsive, practical, and compliant HR support to corporate employees and leaders, while helping design, administer, and continuously improve HR programs, policies, and processes. Success in this role requires building strong, trust-based relationships with corporate leaders and employees, delivering timely and effective guidance, and balancing business needs with legal and policy requirements. As part of Liberty Lift's HR operating model, this role has defined decision authority, enabling independent handling of routine HR matters while escalating higher-risk or complex issues in accordance with established guidelines. While based in the Houston corporate office, this role also provides HR support to Liberty Lift's field shops, partnering with shop leaders and employees on employee relations, policy interpretation, and day-to-day HR matters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience independently supporting a business unit or department with minimal oversight
• Strong knowledge of federal employment laws and experience supporting a corporate or multi-department environment
• Hands-on experience with UKG (UltiPro/UKG Pro) HRIS platform
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted HR partner for corporate departments and leaders, owning day-to-day employee relations, policy interpretation, and workforce issues
• Operate with defined decision authority, independently managing routine matters while escalating higher-risk or complex issues as appropriate
• Partner with other Corporate HR functions for specialized expertise, ensuring clear handoffs and alignment of responsibilities
• Provide feedback on trends, risks, and opportunities to inform HR programs and practices across the organization
• Support field shop leaders and employees on HR matters, serving as an additional point of contact alongside field HR resources where applicable
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour requirements, anti-discrimination laws, harassment prevention requirements, leave administration, and workplace policies
• Monitor changes in employment law and implement updates proactively
• Partner with leadership and legal counsel on compliance issues and risk mitigation
• Administer FMLA, state leave programs, workers' compensation, and other applicable leave and disability programs
• Manage employee accommodation in compliance with the ADA and applicable state laws
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure clear communication throughout leave and accommodation processes
• Serve as a point of contact and own employee relations matters from intake through resolution, including conflict resolution, performance management, corrective action, investigations, documentation, and follow-up
• Partner with senior HR leadership on complex or high-risk matters to ensure consistent and compliant outcomes
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and compliant work environment
• Serve as a subject matter resource for HR processes and workflows within UKG (UltiPro/UKG Pro), including employee data management, reporting, and process administration
• Partner with HRIS/Corporate HR to maintain data integrity, troubleshoot system issues, and support system enhancements or upgrades
• Produce and analyze workforce reporting and metrics from UKG to identify trends and support leadership decision-making
• Exercise independent judgment in managing routine employee relations matters and policy interpretation within established guidelines
• Escalate complex, high-risk, or sensitive issues as appropriate
• Partner with the VP of HR on decisions involving compensation, benefits, organizational changes, or policy exceptions
• Ensure alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and Delegation of Authority (DOA)
• Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for corporate roles in partnership with Talent Acquisition
• Coach leaders on performance management, documentation, and development conversations
• Coordinate offboarding activities, including resignations, involuntary separations, exit interviews, and final pay compliance
• Deliver timely, responsive, and practical, solution-oriented HR support to corporate leaders and employees
• Build credible, trust-based relationships across corporate departments
• Communicate clearly and professionally, ensuring consistent follow-through on open issues
• Maintain periodic presence in field shop locations to build relationships, understand operational needs, and provide hands-on HR support
